History

Founded in 2025

TerraSana Farms started in a way we never could have planned.

It began with a Facebook post about Deep Woods OFF killing grass. That got us thinking: Could we make our own bug spray without the chemicals we were trying to avoid? So we started experimenting and created our own natural bug spray. We shared it with friends, they loved it, and before long we were making more and more.

But the story behind TerraSana Farms really became personal in 2022.

I was seriously injured in a side-by-side accident and was left with severe neuropathy in both of my arms. After surgery failed to give me the relief I had hoped for, I started doing my own research into magnesium and began making magnesium products for myself.

At the same time, I was already making and using several other natural products at home, including my rosemary hair oil. Eventually I thought, Why not share these with other people too?

That idea became our first small product line. We started with products such as our natural bug spray, magnesium products, Black Drawing Salve, Paw & Nose Butter, Rosemary Castor Oil and a handful of other things we were already making and using ourselves.

Then, in June 2025, TerraSana Farms was invited to collaborate with the Hidden Art Market in Ashland. That was our first real step into local markets.

From there, things took off.

Today, we participate in six local markets throughout southeastern Nebraska, with events nearly every weekend and sometimes during the week as well. What started with just a handful of products has grown into a much larger collection.

Our magnesium line alone now includes six fragrance varieties available in lotions, sprays and 10 ml rollers. We've expanded into face and hair care, intention oils, car diffusers, salves and balms, and we're continuing to introduce seasonal products—including our new shower steamers for fall and winter.

But growth for us isn't about adding products just to have more things to sell.

We're constantly working on our formulas and product line, looking for useful products we can make ourselves while avoiding ingredients and substances we don't want in the products our own family uses.

Everything we make is hand-batched and locally made, and TerraSana Farms truly is a family affair.

My daughter is our graphic designer. My husband is the behind-the-scenes woodworker who helps bring our displays and ideas to life. And my daughter's partner has stepped in as our marketing manager.

What started with a Facebook post and a homemade bottle of bug spray has grown into something none of us expected—a family business that continues to evolve, one product and one local market at a time.

And we're still just getting started.
